Hand-Held Fans

 

Year 1 made these hand-held Japanese fans for our cultural unit of work.

 

We started off with a blank piece of paper and drew Japanese scenes in lead pencil.

Some ideas include:

• Mount Fuji
• Map of Japan
• Japanese flag
• Zen garden
• Lanterns
• Pandas
• Japanese landscape
• Festivals

Students then painted the scenes using water-colour paints and folded into a fan.
