Mr Men and Little Miss

Roger Hargrave's Mr Men and Little Miss books are rich in language and entertain students from preschool through to primary.

Many of the stories have lessons and morals applicable to school-age children.

To make the book more meaningful, create a comprehension task (see sample below) for students to complete.

To pump my students up for their new Science unit of work on Forces (Push/Pull, and Float/Sink), I made these Star Wars light saber bookmarks for them.

Using an image from google, I inserted a glow stick for the light saber.

 

It wasn't until after I had distributed them, that it was pointed out to me that a 'clone' wouldn't have used a light saber so I'll have to modify the bookmark again before the next time I teach this unit!
