Calligraphy
The following are some images of my Year 2 students practicing their calligraphy skills using paint and brushes as part of our cultural unit on Japan:
Photo Frames
We have been studying "Workers in the Community" as our HSIE topic this term, and performed a cute item at assembly on "What I Want to be When I Grow Up".
The kids dressed up in their chosen profession and I took photos for a class slideshow.
But I wanted to send home a keepsake with each student, and so we made these cute photo frames using paddlepop sticks and stick-on rhinestone gems:

Butterfly Bookmarks
This was such a simple activity for my youngsters to complete when undertaking our unit on Minibeasts. We created these butterfly bookmarks using beads, wire and butterflies purchased at the $2 shop.
Christmas Tree Bell Ornaments
Working in a non-denominational school means we don't discuss Christmas at all - but I have the opportunity to do just that during our Values - Bible Studies class.
For the last few weeks of the year, the students are involved in creating Christmas crafts and presents for their friends and family. This past week we created these cute bells as tree ornaments:

Fish Lanterns
To make these Japanese fish lanterns, I provided my Year 1 students with the following template:
Students coloured the fish scales using oil pastels, and then glued crepe paper strips to the base.
You ROCK! Gift idea
Here's an original idea - I found some Pop Rock candy for that rocking teacher as a Kris Kringle gift.
... and the printable:
Clock
Copy onto coloured paper, laminate and display around the classroom clock.
My students have found this to be a very useful visual aid in helping them tell the time.
