Christmas Tree Bell Ornaments

Working in a non-denominational school means we don't discuss Christmas at all - but I have the opportunity to do just that during our Values - Bible Studies class.

For the last few weeks of the year, the students are involved in creating Christmas crafts and presents for their friends and family. This past week we created these cute bells as tree ornaments:

We needed foam bells, tinsel pipe cleaners, paint and glitter glue:

And the final product:

All About Me Bunting

Cute idea for back to school: have students complete one of these and display across a wall or on string for visitors to admire!

Cross

Much like my butterfly rubs (found here), cut and laminate a cross template, trace using oil pastels and smudge to create this 'sprayed' effect.

Grandparent's Day Assembly Song

This is the most adorable song! "Some Kind of Wonderful" by High 5.

It can be sung at a Valentines, Mothers, Fathers or Grandparent's Day assembly, with a video slideshow of the students with their significant family member.

Frosty the Snowman.........

Christmas theme, or unit on Seasons and Weather? How about this Snowman treat for a procedure writing task? It's super easy, it's super cute and it's super delicious. All you need it some icing sugar, marshmallows, choc chips biscuits and icing pens.

Kind Deeds

Here's a little activity I like to do with my Values class each week: Kind Deeds.

Students first set goals: they must think of five kind deeds to undertake at home or at school over the course of the following week. We then spend time sharing and reflecting on them the following week.

Values: Jelly Bean Prayer

Jelly Bean Prayer

Love this beautiful jelly bean prayer, and so did my Bible Studies students this year at Easter time.

Red is for the blood He gave.
Green is for the grass He made.
Yellow is for the sun so bright.
Orange is for the edge of night.
Black is for the sins we made.
White is for the grace He gave.
Purple is for His hour of sorrow.
Pink is for a new tomorrow.

A handful of jelly beans,
Colourful and sweet
Is a prayer, a promise,
A loved one's treat!
